Parents Anonymous Groups provide parent mutual support and parent leadership in
order to build and support strong, safe families.
What is a Parents Anonymous Group?
Parents, a Parent Leader, and a Staff
Facilitator gather together on a weekly basis for group discussion and support.
Parents determine topics discussed based on their needs. Group members
support each other through listening and discussion.
Parents Anonymous focuses on:
Guiding Principles:
Meaningful parent leadership: Parents are
effective and needed leaders who shape the direction of their families, programs
and communities.
Effective mutual support: Parents give and
receive support from each other thereby creating a strong sense of community,
belonging and trust
Long-term personal growth: Parents, children
and youth transform their attitudes, learn new behaviors, and build on their
strengths to make long-term positive changes in their lives.
